Music is more than an education, it's a way of life.
LEARNInstead of putting a hault to all the progress your student has made over the school year, they can keep those instruments in use and never lose their chops for the fall.

EXPERIENCEWorking with the Batavia Concert Band, students have the opportunity to learn from local musicians among an array of professional fields.
|
HAVE FUNOur concerts are designed to be first and foremost, a good time for all. Music is more than an education— it's a way of life. Something that has the chance to stick with you forever.

When shall we have music for the People? Music that all who will may hear, without money and without price; free to all ears, as the sparkling fountain on the Common is, to all eyes.

Scholarship
Each season, the Batavia Concert Band Board of Directors recognizes a student musician entering or enrolled in the field of music (or related major) and/or has demonstrated a commitment to performing in community bands, including the Batavia Concert Band. Preference is awarded to those students majoring in a music related field, however all applications will be considered. $300.00 is endowed to one recipient each year, upon submission of application and proof of enrollment in a college program (transcript, letter on college letterhead, etc).
If you are interested or know a student who you'd recommend, please complete (or share) the application below. The Board of Directors and General Manager will review all applications and award the recipient at the final concert of the season.
TIP: We recommend that students type all answers to the following long-format questions into a word processor application (i.e Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Apple Pages, etc.) BEFORE manually entering into these fields, so as not to lose responses in case of network timeout or page refresh.
